Student Action for Responsive Leadership in Tourism (START) is a socio-political organization in the Asian Institute of Tourism, University of the Philippines - Diliman.
We believe that true excellence as individuals is manifested through public service to the College, the University, and country. Student leaders must strive not only for excellence in academic pursuits, but must equally strive to apply their knowledge and skill in various venues of service.
We strive to act in unity to achieve our goals and aims for the College, the University, and country. In this endeavor, we aim to promote transparency and accountability among the students of the College, and provide them avenues for active involvement in the College, University, and country.
We push for the inclusive practice of students having access to issues, activities, and campaigns by Tourism people of all abilities and disabilities. We aim to reach an audience as wide as possible, and for our campaigns and advocacies to go beyond the college.
We prepare to be responsive, as we believe in the continuing struggle for social justice. Towards this end, we advocate individual development by harnessing the talent and potential of individuals and social development by addressing social concerns, needs and injustices within and outside the college.
We gear for carrying out thorough consultations to ensure that the decisions made are the right ones for the institute. We believe that putting our constituents at the heart of the decision making process is key to the success of campaigns, services, and advocacies of the college.
